what do you want to know exactly?

seems you already know what it does as you said its connecting 2 amplifiers to 1 sub.

i have only seen a couple amplifiers that actauly said they where strapable though. also usualy this technique is used in comps and talking about 1000's of watts RMS if your looking to do something like this it is going to require massive electrical upgrades batteries, wires, and alternator well all need upgraded.

Strapping: Hooking 2 amplifiers up together to acheive one output with the combined power from both amplifiers ::::: Pretty much making one big amplifier.

Some amps are manufactored with the ability to be strapped, while others you would have to modd in order to strap them internally.

Richard Clark on www.carsound.com had a diagram for it. It's on that site's forum somewhere.

The idea is that any 2 TRUE MONO amplifiers could be strapped together as one combined amplifier. However, I would stick to 2 amplifiers that advertise their capability.

i know my kicker kx 600.1s can be strapped together, although i have never done it. both amps came with a patch cable, smaller than rca, not sure what size is but claims to give 1200 watts to a minimun 4 ohm load.... not really sure which amp is used to to wire to sub or anything, havent really looked into it

I put the link at my above post. Again, unless you are competing in DB Drag, and need to put the maximum power to one voice coil, I see NO benefit in doing this.

Just plan your system correctly the first time, and purchase the appropriate amplifier/amplifiers.

In the case of buying smaller amps, you could just run them on separate speakers.
