i was searching some other forums and i came across this post:

i have 2 solo baric kickers, i am trying to hook up my MA Audio HC2501 to it. but when i hook up both speakers it sounds like theres not enough power to both of them. but when i hook up one, it thumps louder. Do i need a cap?

i found it amusing and thought you might too GRIN

Boy, that's a odd question as MA makes some pretty potent amps.

The HC2501 is an older MONO amp and from what I can find in searched... 250 RMS x 1 but very little detail in what this amp can do at 1 or 2 ohm loads. He might be right... not enough power to run a pair of SOLO's well.

Did you reply to his plight? Gotta a link to that forum and this post?

Come on... Being a technician you meet lots of people asking some of the most off the wall questions that even seem to be a joke sometimes. I get my fair share of questions but its just that there are some people that dont have much "common sense". Thats our job though... to inform the 'un-informed'.

what did I miss? I took a little mini vacation to go fishing at different piers and beaches with the guys and plenty of beer. Nice to get out of the studio and pry myself from computer screens. Although I did bring my laptop and finally pulled out my long life lithium-ion battery hehe. (just to play music and watch movies i swear) Needless to say we didnt catch much but we sure had fun and pretty t-shirt tans.

So umm Swez... when are you gonna go take a fishing trip?

RTM... you hit the nail on the head!!! When am I gonna take a vacation and get some serious bass fishing in???

I have a job that is putting some time pressures on me at the moment and dead car too.... darn electronics package.... so complex, it's scary.... Thank God I have a spare vehicle at my disposal, but no time to repair this "spaceship" yet.... new ALT pending this week. But think there are other issues too. Dang, I hate fixing this car anymore.... so many sensors... 6 computers and ~150,000 miles on her now... maybe it is time to upgrade to a newer vehicle? I think a F-150 crew or a Minvan makes sense for business and sound etc.

But yes, when this project is completed in July?, I am definitely planning a get a way for some serious Bass fishing. Last Summer, I went down to INDY with a buddy that lives there, for Strippers.

Took 7 hours to find them feeding in the cove... but once we found them, had 2.5 hours of non-stop action. We caught 40+ in 2 hours and the other guys in the other boat caught like 90... It was a feeding frenzy and once we found the right depth, lure color and action, we had fish on with almost every cast.

I just love being out of doors... hiking, golf, fishing and camping etc... but my work schedule has been just nuts this past 3 months. Own my own biz... so if I take time off, make some clients upset or loosing job opportunities... oh well... there are certain priorities one has to make huh?

In the early Fall, we have Salmon runs and Steelhead trout too... so many choices, so little time !!!

Thanks for asking there guy! I do need a change of scenery and soon! Going bonkers.... in a good way

PS So, where did you go and did you catch any "fiddies" ? Or... was it just the cold beer you went out for? GRIN

I live along the eastern oceanfront here in virginia (10 miles from border of North Carolina). So pier, offshore, and deep sea fishing is quite popular out here especially when its 100+ degrees outside its nice to flop around a beach and have a cold one or two. We usually catch croaker, spot and flounder sometimes striped bass. I dont know if many people are familiar with the "outer banks" in north carolina but its just one long strip of land out in the sea where its just a whole small city with just beachouses and beaches. Its where the wright brothers took the first flight "kittyhawk".

There are also a couple rivers around here where I go trout fishing and bass fishing from time to time but you cant comfortably fit but 2 or 3 people on our little 9ft john boat. My entire backyard is a huge lake too where we catch bass, catfish, tiny trout, bluegills, and huge carp.

I'm always traveling up and down the coast from virginia to dc and new york. So its great getting to be home and my buddies all in town. Vacation does wonders for the mind.

I have a 99 f-150 regular cab i like it. Although them minivans are nice. Especially now that u can basically take every seat out and pretend its a truck. hehe

ps. Best place I ever went fishing was in Fairbanks, Alaska. I have never seen so many fish (salmon) swimming down a river like that...I mean thousands of them Scenery was unforgettable... but then again it was like a $5,000 fine if u even tried catching a migrating salmon. I was new to trout fishing so I didnt catch much.

I am going to moses lake next week for a fishing trip. i live in western washington and its about a 4-5 hour drive. Im mostly going to be fishing for bass and walleye. not much of a trout fisherman myself, used to do it more when i was little. cant really say i used to do it when i was a kid cuz 18 isnt really that old hehe. oh well, i love fishing, it annoys me when people complain that its boring. The point isnt always to catch a fish, its just to spend some quality time away from everything else and relax, or maybe its just me cuz i never catch more than 10 fish in the week im there. but thats more than enough for me, especially when all but 2 are walleye. yummmm, i can taste them already. :)

good stuff, i still want to go sturgeon*(sp?) fishing in the columbia, that would be a lot of fun i think

Hey.. a few outdoorsman here after all.. that's so cool!

Ahh, Walleye are present here in the Great Lakes, 4 species of Trout and 3 species od Salmonoids too. I would love to go to Alaska for a fishing trip. I use to take a week and go to northern Onterio for Walleye, Pike, Smallmouth Bass and Muskie.

Here in Michigan, Stugeon are a protected species and are catch and release only, most of the year. They can get big too... 4-5 feet long are not uncommon. Have seen a few... but they are rare here.

For those who think fishing is a waste of time... they just don't understand the relaxation and sheer pleasure of kicking back for a day of rest and being out of doors. Ahhh, the joy of solitude, enjoying a quiet day of relaxing and just being out there in nature. Recharges the mind and the body huh?

I've been "skunked" (no fish that day) many times... but no matter! The peace and enjoyment of solitude are so good for the soul.
