Chronos swez on 02/26/2005 12:42:28 Most of the V-hags I have seen to date are 4+4 voice coils. If you wire them in parallel, you get a 2 ohm load. If wired in series, you get an 8 ohm load. Depending on the amp you will power it with, will determine which wiring scheme to use. Without a model number for that sub, pretty hard to give you a definitive enclosure recommendation. If I recall, they can do pretty well in a sealed box, 0.8 - 1.5 cf internally. Not sure if that sub is suitable for a ported enclosure w/o some specs or input from the mfg. Note: The smaller the box, the less deep bass we get and more punch. If we want lots of deep bass, the larger end of the box spec will give us that. The Vas spec helps tell us the free air response of a given driver. Any box close to or larger than Vas, will make the sub perform like there is no box suspension support (air pressure) to control the cone movements adequately. Hope that helps, Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
