last weekend. It was great. Southern people, all hugging & kissing.
Funny, though. It's the only wedding I have ever been to where everyone is going to their cousin's wedding, yet everyone sits on one side of the church.

I am from Mobile,lived here all my life, I still don't know were to sit @ for these ceramonies.
From what I gather a funeral is just the opposite in seat selection.

Round where i come from, just outside Knoxville, TN.....we take pride in preserving the hillbillieness in our blood and we also dont stop that courtesy at funerals....i went to my grandma's funeral in full camo, had just finished hunting.
But what really surprised me was that i was only one out of 15 or so guys wearing something with camoflage on it. Not to mention all the old guys with overalls and flannel....
Needless to say it all slipped by without a single comment on anyones dress attire.

I propose the we do something drastic. We reinvent the Civil War !!!
No, not undo slavery, etc.. I'm talking about we all have a 'friendly' state vs State, North vs. South, East vs West, Canada vs. USA type of deal.
We could make jokes like, "..What does IOWA stand for?"

It wouldn't be anything too grim, just a 'celebration' of our cultural differences between all the states. In fact, I'd be willing to officiate, and draw up categories..such as:
State vs State (like MN vs WI)
Region (N vs S or E vs W)
Age
Norwegians vs Pollocks (or Swedes)
So long as everything is about intelligence, and not about racially sensitive material, I think it would be fun. Also, it'd be quite a bit of ammunition when standing around the office water cooler (or otherwise) and you come in contact with someone from somewhere else that needs a good needling.

VOLS stands for "Volunteers"......Tennessee has a strong history of many of its citizens volunteering for war duty....the civil war, along with many other wars. Hence the old UT icon used to be a pioneer with a rifle at hand.
I guess you only learn that growing up in TN,
