Im helping a friend match two subs with his amp and hes thinking about the JL 10W3v2s. They are 6ohm DVCs.....what load do you get with 2 of them? Cant find anything online about it thanks Replies (6) Victor on 02/23/2005 10:13:32 'IF' they are 6ohm DVC,meaning each Voice coil of 6ohm impedance. then you can either get a net load of 6ohms by wiring the VC in parallel and then the subs in series, or a net load of 1.5ohm by wiring the VC in parallel and then the subs in parallel. Victor.. danielm87 on 02/23/2005 14:19:02 OK, thanks Vic. Assuming that the JL 10W3v2s are 6ohm DVCs.... He's gonna want a load of 1.5ohm I apologize but i dont understand how to wire a VC in parallel then the subs in paralell. Could anyone explain in detail? Thanks uochronos on 02/23/2005 14:28:50 http://www.phoenixgold.com/2004/wiringtutorial.html simpl;e wiring guide. makes seeing series and pararel a bit easier. Chronos danielm87 on 02/23/2005 14:44:04 None of the wiring diagrams have a two subwoofer 6ohm DVC choice, so what am i to do? Follow the diagrams for a 2 or 4 ohm DVC? uochronos on 02/23/2005 14:46:35 that was just to show you the differnce between parrelel adn series so you could see how it works... 6+6=3 or 12 bascialy uou can wither double or divide the number mattering if you use series or pararelel Chronos danielm87 on 02/23/2005 14:56:59 Okay thanks i get the idea now. SO, its possible to get that 1.5ohm load? If so, i'm gonna need some help doing it cuz i dont understand what "wiring the VC in parallel and then the subs in series" means.
