I have a really good idea for the site. Why not add a buy sell forum. I know alot of us have good used equipment to sell and also alot of us don't have the money to pay for new equipment. So what do you think good or bad idea???

It has merit and I have seen it work on other forum sites where people know and trust each other when buying and selling new/used gear.
Obviously, the name of the game is "TRUST" between the buyers and sellers. I for one, would like to think we have a pretty tight community here and the thought of ripping someone off by selling damaged goods,r not paying for goods received or similar scenarios would be not an issue.
How about the rest of you guys... what do you think?
One last thought, how does a modest fee for advertising sound to help make it beneficial to the site to set up the program. Just a few bucks would probably be sufficient and give Walt some return on his investment to run and maintain the site as we grow???

PS Have not consulted with Walt on this one... but since our donation program is going a bit slow right now, (Why is that?) maybe there is another way to help defray the costs of maintaining/upgrading the site .

I personally think its a good idea. i know id buy stuff used from people who know a thing or 2 about car audio. id feel more comfortable knowing that the previous owner knew what he was doing (you know, not over powering stuff, wiring it right, etc., and if he hung around forums like this, most likely he did.
the only concern i have is people spamming up the place...

We can spot spammer and Golds or Admins can delete them as (if) they show up... so that may not be much of an issue.
Besides, if we deal with the regulars here, probably build even more trust and committment to each other. I've seen same on a different site I frequent, so a win-win deal for all if we are fair with selling/bidding prices.
Just note that we are selling use products and prices should be well below retail. If there is a warrantee that is passed on to buyer, the value of the product is worth a bit more.

sounds good to me, i wouldnt mind a small fee either. i've already contributed by donation and if it helps walt keep the site up and running, i'd be happy to contribute while im selling. I dont think trust should be an issue here, we are all pretty close as a group and i believe there should be no fear of getting ripped off as long as its a regular member.
