The speakers should work, if you have a decent 2 channel amp to power them.
Are these full range boxes or just subs? If you only want the woofers to play, use a Low Pass filter set ~80-100 Hz. All above that will be filtered off.
If you have a car with seats that fold down into trunk, then you can try full range settings on the amp and see how that sounds. If not, use the woofers only as the mids and highs will not come through the trunk very well.
One thing I am not sure about, are you planning to use a home stereo amp to power these speakers? If yes, will need a power invertor that converts 12 volts DC to 120 volts AC.
NOTE: Some cheaper inverters can be noisy and add unwanted noise to your audio system.
