I have a boss ba2900 1000watt max and a sound stormD500.4 2000watt max in my boot, to power them I have 2, 8 guage cables the sound storm amp drags 440 watt rms and the cable does get warm and I dont know how hot I gets when its been on for a while but im asuming it would get a little to warm, so could I bridge the 2 power cables together so that there are even power drains going threw both cables

running both cables together may help.... honestly as far as its run 8 guage isnt a great choice... if its getting warm after just a little i would assume at high volume its getting quite warm... not a good thing at all..

i dont know how your amp is set up but is it even possible to run both wires to one amp?

if yoiur running more then like 10 feet i would say you really should upgrade to 4gauge..

You could gang 2x8's together and get the same effect of using a #4 gage wire. But they both have to be run from the fuses back and conjoined by crimping, soldering or a Distribution Block. The D-block method is the best route here. Nice and neat connections that way. A dual #8 input, dual or 4 #8 outs are fine.

The best way to do this, is to run #4 from the BAT/fuse to boot and then split to each amp with short #8 feeders and grounds.

Would'nt just connecting the 2 #8 then splitting have the same effect as the block only being alot easyer it shoud even out the current and be the same as running 1 #4 thats split into 2#8

You can do that if you wish. But it will look like hammered poop when completed. (a huge wad of tape or several large gage shink tubing splices) That's why I suggested a $10.00 D-block. Neat, clean and flawless connections. The D-block is much easier to install & service in the end. Do as you see fit.

i say tear out your 8 gauge power wires, run 4 gauge, use a distribution block to however many 8 gauges you need, no more than 4 though. that way it would be clean, and you would be getting ample power to your goods. connecting seperate pieces of 8 gauge really does look like crap. it's all about the cleanliness...that's what makes you look good and gets you jobs on other cars.

Well both the amps are screwed to virtical mdf, i was thinking of just putting a simple join behind it and no one is the wiser. I want to be sure its not going to blow up or anything.
