Hey guys, I'm just wondering if it is possible to get a decent sub and amp for 150 or if i should just save up more. What are your thoughts? Save or spend? If you think I should buy now, what are your suggestions? if you think I should save, how much should i shoot for, and then what should I get?

I don't know if they would be considered "decent", but you can pick up Bazooka EL series 10" or 12" for less than $20 ea. if you don't mind used stuff (I don't mind it at all) Many of their amps are available for less than $100 used also.

PHOENIX GOLD XENON X12D4 12" CAR SUBWOOFERS SUBWOOFER for $107.95
and then
PHOENIX GOLD R4.0:2 OCTANE 2 Amp for $99.95
Would that be a good set up?

Not bad,PG makes some real good stuff, I guess the sub would be fine, but you could look for a better amp, not that this amp is bad , but i suggest instead of a 2ch class A/B amp you should buy a digital monobloc amp .
also the sub you have chosen is a 4+4 DVC and the amp is not stable at 2ohm load in bridged mode, so individually both the products u selected are good but they donot match, and will not perform when put to work together.
