getting closer and closer..... yeehoo. cut it down to two amps,

alpine mrd-m500
diamond audio d5300.2

the alpine is a mono class d amp
RMS Power Rating (measured at 14.4V):
* Into a 4-Ohm Load: 250 watts x 1
* Into a 2-Ohm Load: 500 watts x 1

and the diamond amp is a stereo class a/b amp
RMS Output Power I do NOT know if it is rated at 12v or 14.4v
- 75 Watts x 2 @ 4 ohms Stereo
- 150 Watts x 2 @ 2 ohms Stereo
- 300 Watts x 1 Bridged @ 4 Ohms

===========

Okay, I will be using either amp to power an alpine type-s 12" SVC. Both amps are used, but the alpine will run be about $80CDN more. I guess somewhere down the road I will upgrade the sub, but as this will be my first system, I doubt that'll be for a long time, nor do i like it when people blast there subs, I just need some thump. Which amp would you choose? Any input would be grealy appreciated!

i would personaly spend the extra money on the alpine..

both are extremly good amps dont get me wrong either would be a good choice my reasoning for the alpine is as follows..

A alpine has a bit more power and later if you decided to upgrade that would be great to have... also what if you decide you want a differnt sub and its 2ohm? then what.... with the alpine your covered with the diamons not so much

B the alpine is class D it is 90% efficient meaning it well put out 250watts and pull around 20-30amps... the diamond is A/B it well put out 300watts and pull 40+ amps going to pull alot more from your electricals and not gain you much...

also dont qoute me on this but i belive the alpine has a SS filter and the diamond doesnt... which is a wonderfull thing to have.

Go Alpine here... better option for more power, efficiency and can easily add a matching type S sub (2 x 12") for a 2 ohm load and get the full power from this amp. This amp will give you great bass.
