All the speakers work in my car, except one

hi there, So I am in the middle of installing stuff, a new head unit (which is done) and 4 speakers, so far, the 2 rear speakers work, and so does the front left. The problem is the front right speaker, even before the install it didn't work. I called Crutchfield Tech support and they tell me that either it could be that my "internal amp" is blown or that it is a wiring problem. My question to you guys is, A) do you think that is right? and B) How do I fix it? Thanks

best way to see if the speaker works is take the HU out and touch the 2 wires leading to the speaker to a small square 9volt battery you well here static out of the speaker if you hear that then the speaker and wiring are working... if not then its one of those 2 things.. and we can help you from there..

well folks at CK, I just wanted to announce that I'm finally done, and it sounds pretty good. Next step will be to but the CDTs I previously spoke about. My only question is will that give me decent bass, obviously not subwoofer quality, but like at least some bass?

yes/no.........you wont get the so called bass exactly but good mid-bass for sure...

it well give you decent bass down to like 60hz...

below 60hz the roll off is going to be quick and you wont get much.

also you where looking into 4" components... they have CDT 4" comps on ebay for 50$ buy it now... great deal.

Who ya calling "LAZY" there Victor? I sure don't see that in Mr. M. He's probably been hopping around all over this ride the past few weeks. LOL Can't say I blame him for taking a little break, enjoy his present efforts and plan for future upgrades.

Enjoy the new toys... have done well so far.

I decided to go for the CDT Audio 6.5'' Comps, they should be fun. This will probably be the last of my miniproject for a while since this is the end of my bank role.

So here's a question for you guys, when I install the Tweeter part of the speakers, do i just drill holes in the top of the trunk lid, and put in it next to the 6.5'' midbass or whatever?

as close to the mid bas is better... but you want it to point towards say the senter front say right einbetween the front seats is a good spot to aim them... you well need to surface mount them for this... they come with great gear to hook them up and good directions..

you can try some double stick tapa and move them around until you get the best sound.
