I just got a 98 s10 single cab, and want a single 10inch kicker comp vr. How would that sub match up to the jbl 300.1? The rms @ 300 should be perfect, but what ohm sub do i need, the kickers are DVC subs. Thanks Replies (7) snipe523 on 07/4/2003 02:37:47 Get the dual 4ohm version. Being that the JBL does its max rms at either 2ohm or 1ohm but is more efficient at 2ohm the dual 4ohm version should work perfect with that amp. Relax_The_Mind on 07/4/2003 04:06:17 Agreed... The dual 4 ohm sub wired in parallel should be fine. RTM Swez on 07/4/2003 08:43:33 Agreed... very good match if you do manage to get the proper enclosure space for that sub to fit into available space. Swez schlsux on 07/4/2003 11:29:43 isn't the amp a 2 channel mono amp, as in there's a left and right input but it wires parallel inside the amp? if so would i each voice coil into a side, or wire the sub parallel and bridge, or only wire into one side of the amp? Buickman94 on 07/4/2003 13:49:25 There isnt a left and right imput, just 2 different imputs for the same mono channel to make wiring multiple subs easier. you dont need to bridge anything, as thers nothing to bridge, its one channel. schlsux on 07/4/2003 13:55:32 so i can wire the sub in parallel, then just hook it up to one set of pos. neg.? Swez on 07/4/2003 15:30:16 Yes, that's the easiest way to do it. See, you have what... 4 input RCA's in this amp (RF,LF,RR & LR) But you also have 2 RCA lines from the HU to feed the amp.... is that correct? Well, buy a pair of "Y" splitter jacks from Radio Shack (1 female and 2 males /"Y") and use all 4 input RCA's into the amp. The preamp inside the amplifier will combine all these signals to for a single output channel to your sub. There are 2 sets of output terninals on this amp for ease of installing more than one sub... but in your case, only one set is used and the other is not. Read your install manual for more details. It has some very interesting information about the amp and how to use it. Of you did not get one, can pull ine off the JBL website: http://www.jbl.com/car/product.asp?prod=BP300.1&ser=POS&cat=AMP .pdf owners manual: http://manuals.harman.com/JBL/CAR/Owner%27s%20Manual/bp_om.pdf Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
