Replies (10) UKinstaller on 01/26/2005 12:01:08 i've got an IVA-D300 in my bimmer, and it is just SICK. it has AWESOME picture, good features, and is incredibly flexible. you can add all sorts of stuff to it, such as the ability to tune a digital alpine amp through it, IPOD controls, direct sirius or xm hookups, etc. i used to have a pioneer AVIC-N1, and the alpine is much better, except for the lack of navigation. the screen size, 7 inch vs. 6.5 on the avic, is drastic, and the quality is much nicer too. the only downside that i have had with my d300 is the size of the brain. the brain on it is HUGE, i had to mount it in my trunk, under my back deck. but, all inputs and outputs, including rca's, are on the brain, so i won't have to run anything else through my car. this is good for me because my car is very hard to take apart. i don't know much about the D900, i've never used it, but i'm sure it's awesome. the only thing is, do you really want to spend $2000 on a head unit?? you will be able to get the D300 for around $1000 once the D301 comes out. i don't know if any one piece for a car is worth $2000. what kind of car is it going in?? -UK ryan2 on 01/26/2005 12:09:51 it will be going into a cavalier untill i get a new car. Yea i really dont want to spend an extra $1000. If the picture quality is as good as you say theres no point to spend an extra 1000 for better picture quality UKinstaller on 01/26/2005 12:33:34 yip. go with the D300. it's awesome. -UK ryan2 on 01/28/2005 11:18:45 -UK What do you use to clean of your screen? Im sure it gets pretty dirty with fingerprints. Also did you purchase the remote for it? Thanks, Ryan UKinstaller on 01/28/2005 21:58:24 my screen is actually surprisingly clean, seeing as to how i leave work everyday with grease on my hands. i haven't cleaned my screen just yet. let me get back to you on that one, i'll read the manual, it's at work though. and yeah i've got the remote for it, but only because the guy that i traded with already had it. it's been in my glovebox ever since i got it, i really don't use it. are you gonna order one?? -UK ryan2 on 01/29/2005 11:51:53 Yea i was thinking about getting the remote for it, since its probably only $10 UKinstaller on 01/29/2005 20:06:45 actually the one i have is $60, but it's discontinued. make me an offer and it's yours. -UK ryan2 on 01/31/2005 12:15:34 I'll wait to take you up on that offer when its gets closer to the time to purchase it if your still interested in selling it then. Never know when money might become tight and not be able to get the D300. What kind of car is yours in anyways? Im worried that i might have to move things around in the dash. The climate controls or ontop and the HU is below it and i dotn want the screen to be rubbing on anything. But if i switch things around with the HU on top i believe the screen will hit the air vents. Thats the way it does in my friends car anyways. I might just have to have the HU stick out farther then I have it mounted now so it clears everything unless someone else has any suggestions. UKinstaller on 01/31/2005 15:51:06 my pulsetouch is in a 1997 BMW 328is. it fits in there perfect. as for climate controls, you can bring the unit out pretty far, shouldn't be too big of a problem from what i can think of about a cavalier dash. did you put your cd player in your cavalier?? -UK ryan2 on 01/31/2005 18:03:16 Yea i put it in myself.
