Replies (3) Faded on 01/25/2005 01:01:40 well i just took the sub itself out to my trunk and hooked it up to see if it would still bump and it was but it was making a very small and distant cracking sound whenever it would hit the super low notes in a song do you think that might be becuz i didnt have it in a box or is that normal it wasnt anything big like i put my ear to the middle of the sub and i could hear it but j/w thanks -Faded- Faded on 01/25/2005 01:04:47 if my pay check is big enough i might be able to get my box by this coming friday GRIN i just hope its big enough should i ask the guy to tune the box to around 30hrtz or 40hrtz? uochronos on 01/25/2005 02:40:22 you should not be running that sub out of a box at low volume less then 30% you can quickly test it. but yes hitting certain note while out of a box could make extremly bad sounds and damage if too loud... but it could also be a loose cone, some sort of dirt or chunk of somehting could be in it. or could be a tinsil lead come loose or hitting the cone... those would be my 3 best guesses.
