i'm tryin to install a sub in my 98 chevy s10...regular cab, so there's not much space, but i can get the speaker to fit, that's no the problem....i need to know almost everything to do to get started... for example, i guess i need an amp, where do i run that to, how to run the wires so they don't look crappy, how many speakers you can hook to an amp, ummm....everything almost you can think of, pretend i don't know what anything is, i don't even know what a subwoofer is, pretend that.... and someone please help me or direct me somewhere to go to see this stuff... thanks Replies (2) Swez on 07/2/2003 22:20:07 OK, I'll bite... how much do you wish to spend and how much bass do you wanting to have? I would thing 300 watts (RMS and a set of 8"s or 10" are about all you have space for. A well designed enclosure will do wonders... if you are cleaver... or get good advice. With those basic parameters... we can go through a few options for you. Are you using a stock GM HU (radio) or have an aftermarket HU installed already? What brand and model ? How much physical space do you have to play with for a sub enclosure... would think NOT MUCH in a regular cab S-10 PU. Swez Relax_The_Mind on 07/3/2003 01:21:06 This is just wiring recommendations for later use to you. I had a 99 F-150. Wiring most newer trucks use snap on floor everything. Just about everything should be able to come off with careful tugging. For the power wire you can run them it through your firewall behind your pedals and run it along the drivers side underneath the footstep panel which should pop or screw off (usually has plenty of space underneath) then onward from there. For the RCA's may or may not be tricky. If you have the 'hump' in the middle of the floor you can run them under the carpet along the side of the hump. Or you can run them along the other side of the as you did your power wire (always try to keep the RCAs and Power wire seperate). You can run the Remote wire along with the RCA's too. Be sure to mount the amp somewhere that it has adequate air flow such as back side wall or even under your seat. If there is any...and I know I may have missed out on some minor points just ask.
