High-Level Inputs

I've noticed that the back of my cd player has this and so does my amp. What is this for? I've never really heard anybody talk about this.

Could someone explain what it does?

most amps anymore use RCA's to get the signal to the amp. but if you have a stock or older/cheap HU then you dont have RCA's well then you have noway to hook up the amp. but with high level inputs you can they work by connecting the speaker wires to them instead of the RCA's... however if you have RCA's that is a far better way to go.

rca's offer better noise rejection, and a cleaner signal. Your deck has high level outputs, the amp has inputs.
