I've found a decent ported box for my Bahn AW1206T, it has perfect cubic footage for the job and the mounting depth will work out great. The only thing i questioned was that it was tuned to 36Hz. I don't have any experience with tuning boxes, but i need yalls help. Is 36Hz too high for this sub? It seems like lower tuned would be better. I am clueless but i need help! Thanks, Daniel Replies (3) CSR on 12/29/2004 11:24:19 Here a link to AudioBahn's tech page. http://www.audiobahninc.com/tech/2004/boxParams/AW06T_box_specs.pdf From checking out a few of their simular subs, their recomended porting is from 40 to 37Hz. So a porting of 36Hz should be very close. I've seen a few new boxes turned to 36Hz these days. I'd say use the box, I wouldn't try to find a box that's tuned lower. If it fits in the space you have, it should work with the AW1206T. P0werLifter on 12/29/2004 13:20:47 It really depends on what type of music you listen to? Most music does not really go below 40Hz but Rap goes down to around 30Hz so you should have a nice range to play with. You should use the box for now and if you find that it doesnt play low enough (i think you'll be satestfied) then you can allways build your own. Grantid theres more math to it once you get the hang of it, its easy and fun GRIN. swez on 12/29/2004 19:34:58 Agreed, 36 Hz., is a pretty good tuning frequency for a car sub. If this were for HT or you happened to like classical music with a pipe organ, then... going lower would make sense. Otherwise, I see no issue here as long as your amp has a SS filter in that range.
