I am back home in the midwest visiting friends and family. Last night a good friend of mine was off from work today and got a kitchen pass to go out. We ended up out late and afterwards went to another freinds house to get his car(and raid the fridge!). We were not there long when we heard a loud explosion from not too far away. We went outside but did not see anything, though is was probably a transformer that exploded or a wreck on a highway that is not far away. A few min later there were alot of flashing lights outside. There is a small hill on the road that connects to my buddies driveway. Couple of kids were going fast enough that they flew 30-40yrds, cleaned a ditch and 15-20 ft of a wood fence, hit the embankment that makes my buddies driveway, flew another 20 yrds clearing the remainder of the fence before comming to rest in a field next to the house. Driver and passenger were both ejected and in bad shape... The guy had to be doing well over 100mph to fly like he did, the cops said he was a marine on leave for the holidays... I am hoping that it was nobody that I knew as I know a few people still in the marines, and we could not even tell what kind of car it was(maybe a lincoln mark VIII or a grand prix?). Thank god we stayed to raid the fridge, save by cold pizza I guess....
Please be carefull over the holidays, I can only imagine how thier families must feel now a few days before x-mas....
