does the radio say RDS on it anywhere?? if so, you might be out of luck because many of the cars features run through the radio. our idiot engineering friends at GM are making it tougher and tougher every year to upgrade radios. if it says RDS, some features such as oil light reset, factory door chime, and i believe even airbag features all run through the radio.

if it does say RDS, the MINIMUM you will have to do is relocate the radio to somewhere else in the car to keep all of the features, and use a T harness to have the factory radio and the new one at the same time. tricky stuff but can be done.

if it does NOT say RDS, then yes you can replace the radio without replacing the speakers. the part is expensive, i believe it will run you between $80 and $100 for the harness.

if it were me, and money wasn't really an issue, and you do not have an RDS radio, i would just replace the entire sound system with aftermarket speakers and head unit, in addition to your subwoofers. it will eliminate any problems that may be caused by the bose system. however, if you like how they sound and don't wish to replace them, then check out www.soundgate.com for the specific harness needed to replace the radio in your tahoe.

sorry so long. bose systems are a real pain in the ass.
