I doubt you remember me, but back in the day, when I had some free time, and before the site went down/came back up/went down/came back up, I used to frequent the boards, and share/gain lots of advice.

Back then I had a 2K Ford F150 extended cab, and was still referred to as Tray.

Anyway, enough of the 'about me'.

I seem to remember you were a GM guy back then. Is this still the case?

If so, I was wondering if you have done anything with an alarm install.

I now have a 2000 Chit-Fil-A Blazer, and installed a new alarm this weekend, but am running into a problem. I can't get the unlock function to work properly.

The locks work fine, and everything else is great, but unless I have the windows down, or the dome override button depressed, the power locks do not function with the unarming of the alarm.

The daytime running lights caused a bit of a problem, as it was only protecting the car during the day, but now I have that fixed. And the ACC power staying on after the ignition is shut off was a problem too, but got that figured out.

I've now racked my brain, and am stuck. I could really use some help. Thanks, and sorry for the novel.

Hey Tray,

Welcome back... and really, am not a GM guy at all... I drive one now, but this will be be my last. Am moving to Ford or an Import on my next vehicle.

I have no experience with installing alarms. However, we do a guy here that has done many in his day... "ttocs" is his name and he can probably pick up on this one and take you down the right path.

Thanks Swez.

ttocs,

Sounds like you're the man when it comes to alarms. Do you have any advice you could pass along.

Oh yeah, and good choice Swez. I ended up having to get rid of my baby (F150) when my 2nd daughter came along, and have missed it ever since. I tried a Nissan Altima, and loved it, but when I got laid off, I couldn't afford the payments. I then went to a 92 Mercury Grand Marquis, and was rollin' in style. Then as it came time to "upgrade" to a minivan for my wife, I got stuck with the Chit-Fil-A Blazer. As soon as I can afford it, I'm going to a Crew Cab Ford truck.

You got it man.... My GM days are going down fast as I have driven many Ford products, several Villager's , 2 Taurus and what... maybe 9 GM vehicles in the past 30 years... Had a Datsun and ran that thig over 10 years and 135,000 miles with no major problems but the one I caused racing and Beemer one day. Had that Beemer in my rear view mirror until I blew 2nd gear hehe

Oh well, I was young and foolish then.... a lot easier on my cars today.

BTW, ttocks is going on a 10 day vacation soon. So ... write a specific post to him ASAP and see if you can catch him before he leaves town.
