what is better? 1x sony xplod 12" 1200w (petagon shape) in box or 2x pioneer 12" 600w vccs in box not sure of stats 4 each i have both and im not sure on which one 2 sell! i also have a 4 channel 600w SPA-9704A schnider amp and i want to know if i can bridge it to 1 channel! need help, plz any1! thanx Replies (2) swez on 12/6/2004 07:28:26 Not familiar with that amp brand. Must be unique to Ausie-land area only. A 4 channel can usually be bridged down to 2 more powerful channels. However, when we do the bridging, we must normally use a 4 ohm load to each half of the amp. (front/rear channels) Here are the specs I found on that amp: http://www.schneideraudio.com/Images/SPA_9704A.pdf This amp is rated at 65 Wrms x 4 channels, 130 Wrms x 2 when bridged. In this case, I would recommend that you use the Pioneer subs if they are 4 ohm coils. Wire one sub to each channel in bridged mode. If that Sony sub had dual 4 ohm voice coils, (DVC) you can run one channel to each coil set. However, I am not aware of any Sony subs that have DVC's to date. Does that help? Swez Victor on 12/7/2004 07:03:49 I wud suggest you look for a sub thats DVC and handles 300-400wrms.. ie, 150-200wrms per coil.. and wire each coil to the bridged channel.. here is a very good one i can think of.. Alpine SWR- 1241D .. its a 4ohm DVC sub.. each VC of 4 ohms and handles 150wrms per coil.. http://www.epinions.com/Alpine_12__Dual_4_ohm_Voice_Coil_Subwoofer_SWR_1241D__Subwoofers_SWR_1241D/display_~full_specs comments...??
