Here is a project i'm tinkering on and desinging... I'm building a 3rd order passive crossover for my system. i'm looking for info on construction... i already have some excelent literature by north creek and some by vance dickason(the loud speaker design cook book)... some very excelent ideas and designs.. this is a project in the making just collecting ideas and designs at the moment and then well start collecting parts. probaly a 6month project in the making here. anyone who has design crossovers before or knows any good reference too them i would be very interesting in learning all the info i can on this... also i have a program called Xover 3 pro anyone who has used this before i would be itnerested in learning from. Chronos PS If you have never read anything by north creek i suggest looking some of it up very cool ideas on crossover design. thanks in advance for the info i'm sure i well get:) Replies (2) swez on 11/26/2004 10:55:53 This will be a fun project for you. High learning curve too. Got a link to North Creek? The hard part will be locating quality componets at reasonable prices. Don't for get to use non-polorized filter caps and low loss coils. Swez uochronos on 11/26/2004 13:04:00 ya finding quality components is defiantly the hard part... i plan to take my time and get it right.... luckily we have some hi end type part stores in town that can usualy get stuff ordered in for you. the rest i well have to search for online... hopefully some of it i well be able to order from north creek, hoever i hear he is no longer doing buisness with hobbiest and just with profesionals so i may not be able to.... saw a hand wound coil from him and i must say it was a work of art in how pricise it was, i defiantly agree about the high learning curve the guy who convinced me this wasnt a futile goal is a guy i grew up next door to. and after talking to him for 2 hours over dinner i feel like i learned more then i have un 2 weeks normaly lol head sort hurt:) www.northcreekmusic.com Chronos Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
