huh!!! wud u mind telling me about this festival or ritual.. since i am not from ur part of the world dont have much info on it..

Thanksgiving is a tradition that was part of the earliest beginnings of our country. It was a feast of thanks for a full harvest, good hunting and general prosparity of the original Pilgrims that came to the USA to settle and start their own religous practices without any interference from England.
Not sure what year it began, but sometime in the 1620's is my guess. The Pilgrims were a persecuted sect of religion in England and they landed at Plymouth Rock, MA and settleed there. They eventually made friends with local American Indian tribes in the area and invited them to the feast as well.
