Um, is that going to be a problem or what? THINK Replies (4) uochronos on 11/14/2004 14:25:57 Yes.... Yes it is going to be a problem for 1 reason. if you only have one of these woofers wired up the only possible ohmage is 2 or 8 ohm. there is noway to get 4ohm load from one of those woofers. from 2 you can get a 4 ohm load Chronos swez on 11/14/2004 14:29:03 With one, you can wire at 2 ohms or 8 ohms. That amp can deliver 800 RMS @ 2 ohms, 400 @ 4 ohms & 200 @ 8 ohms. Will it work... yes! But, pay attention to gain settings on the amp and how much Bass Boost is used. I have been testing a 200 RMS sub (4 ohms) @ 400+ RMS and it works very well when the amp does not clip. The sealed enclosure helps a lot. Have a clipping monitor and compression/limiter circuits on this amp, (Peavy Pro CS-800) allows more power before clipping and does not damage the sub. You won't find that feature on most car amps... but if you listen to the sub carefully, you can detect excess clipping. Dial back on the amp gain and BB until you get a clean bass signal. Swez danielm87 on 11/14/2004 16:51:23 Thankya Swez. Chronos, i have two of them hooked up, so i'll be fine? swez on 11/14/2004 20:53:41 Yep, 2 subs, each wired for 8 ohms per sub and then parallel to amp is a solid 4 ohm load. This is very safe for your amp, but 50% of the total RMS power this amp can deliver is all. Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
