PPI A600

I am getting ready to wire a PPI A600 to a 4 ohm 10" DVC bazooka sub(250 watts per coil). Should I wire them in parallel? Can this amp handle the load at 2ohms? I don't want to fry my amp. Should I just wire it normal?

Thanks

Am not familiar with that PPI amp. Is it a 2 channel or a Mono amp version? Most PPI amps I have seen, are 2 channel versions. Comments?

Most 2 channel amps can handle 2 ohms loads per channel when wired stereo. If you bridge the amp outputs, then a 4 ohm load is almnost always the mininmum load it will take... unless using a high current amp version.

In your case, if a 2 channel amp, would simply wire one VC to each channel and leave it at that. However, if this is a Class D Mono amp or High current version, the wiring the sub in parallel for a 2 ohms load to amp is fine.

Hope that helps,

Swez

PS If this is a 2 channel and you attempt to bridge and feed it a 2 ohm load, it will draw too much power, may overheat and shut down at high output levels or blow fuses. Not recommended!
