Wiring options

I was looking at getting a pair of Rockford Fosgate P212S8
But my amp which is a Lanzar is only Bridgeable at 4 Ohms.
Since the subs are 2 single 8ohm 12's could i wire them down to 4 ohms each to bridge at channels 1,2/3,4?

thanks..

can u give some more details on the amp??

have you made up your mind to get those subs??

we can suggest u some other subs which can match properly with your amp.

since its a 4ch amp u can bridge it down to 2 ch and connect a sub to each 1,2/ & 3,4/......usually most of the 4ch and 2ch amps are only 4ohms stable in the bridged mode..

so either u need 2 subs 4ohmsSVC... or 2 subs 2ohmsDVC or 2subs 8ohmsDVC...

2 of 8ohms svc wont do..
there is one way.. get another 8ohm load resistor and put it in parallel to each sub.. but i wud not suggest doing this cause its a complicated thing to do.. so if you have not made up your mind on those particular subs please look for other ones that go with the amp that u got..

let us know if u need some recommendations regarding the subs.. but we wud ofcourse need some more detail on your amp..

comments...??

Check your manual for the amp. Ifyou don't have it try a search online. You do need to wire them in parallel to get the most pwr to them. I had a 4 channel amp that was able to have one side brideged, and ran the other 2 channels to some 6.5's if stereo and never had a problem.

The sub/amp combo mentioned is not the best option. A pair of SVC, 4 ohm subs will work better than the 8 ohm versions mentioned. Most SVC subs are good up to 200-250 watts RMS per sub.

If your amp has more power than that when bridged, a pair of 2+2 DVC's will get ya home. They handle more power and generally cost a bit more as well.
