hey, this was for walter. a lot of us members have been wondering if a search option was going to be created for the site so you can just search through all the old post archives to see if there was a question that has already been answered.
just a possibility.
if its too dificult or involved to do, its all good, the format right now is great. just a suggestion HAPPY

There it is at the top when your logged in. Searches only the titles at present.. It is a very basic search .. Search for words in exact order so use one word or two words in order.
We will work on a better search system.
Also the paging doesn't work with the search results yet..

You picked up on something a few of us were going to pose to you soon already. Appreciate your efforts in the back room details as the site seems to be growing steadily with some new players.
I had heard another board is closing and those out there are looking for new venues to get their fix on new forums to hang out at. Looks like we are getting some of that flowing.
Finally, would you consider renaming the GOLDS from "HELPERS" to something more... uhmmm, errr, duhhh .... reflective of the skills they bring to the board ?
A few suggestions:
1. Technical Advisors
2. System Install Techs
3. Car Audio Evangelists (a personal favorite)
How about some comments/suggetions from the other Golds here...

I agree with Swez on this one about the "helpers" label. A suggestion I have been pondering about was the addition of a Equipment Review type section where people can give professional reviews of car audio gear in general, instead of people that "heard they were good from a friend" type of thing. Putting the actual review into the hands of people who own and have had experience with a general range of makes and models.
Maybe someday after that point Manufacturers will actually send us free gear to review (hint hint). Also trying to keep from overshadowing the message boards as happens with other review type websites.

It has definite merit, but is so subjective if we don't have the tools to test and review gear as we obtain products from targeted vendors.
In short, those who have fine products already, test their gear with very specific industry standards in mind. Those that "spin" the specs to fool the average "bloke", will want no part of being rated by a consumer advocacy group. This is what Consumers Union and Consumer Reports do... but most of us have no way or tools to test and verify product performance.
In short, it ain't gonna happen unless we buy the product test, and publish reports on same. Good idea, but who has the time and eqiuipment to do this ???
Audio Evangelists... that sounds pretty good to me ... what say you guys?
