IDEA I found this while surfing carsound earlier today. I know quite a bit of you guys use the JBL amps, so this might help some of you guys out. Read the whole thing so you understand exactly what to do. Anyway, here you go: Go here Blitz COFFEE Replies (2) Buickman94 on 06/26/2003 19:34:17 i saw this a while ago over at the tempro frum. there are mixed opionions on this. most people think you can get the same results with turning up the gain. i also heard unless you have low voltage outputs from your HU, say 2volts, then you really wont notice a difference with the splitters... something like that, they were talking about it over at CAK too, heres the link: http://pub51.ezboard.com/fcaraudioknowledgefrm1.showMessage?topicID=1726.topic Swez on 06/26/2003 20:23:47 Yep, that's in the owners manual and few bother to read same. What is happening here, the preamp input side of the amp has 4 inputs RCA's, for non-fading sub outputs. This feature sums all 4 voltage inputs (A+B+C+D) channel outs from HU and then feeds them to the main amplifier output section. If the HU is capable of ~2.0 volts per channel in the RCA's, that's ~6-8 volts input to the amp. If you only use 1 pair of RCA's, you have ~ 3-4 volts input. This is why you get the extra gain output when using all 4 inputs. Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
