Ok i told my friend about the Power Acoustik FBX 15 (4ohms) and he said i should get the PA FUBR 2ohm series becuz i have a 4ohmStable 4 channel amp that i could hook up in series to get 4 ohms to just channels 1 and 2 but i wanted to hook up the FBX and i could hook up one voice coil to channels 1 and 2 and then the other voice coil to channels 3 and 4and that would be 4ohms to i have the settings on my amp all the same so it wouldnt be messin with the voice coils so what do YA'LL think i should do i just dont know if just channels 1 and 2 would push the 15 i was thinking that all 4 channels would push it just fine iduuno http://www.cardomain.com/item/POWFUBR15 http://www.cardomain.com/item/POWFBX15 THIS has become a big confusion and im not sure which to go with Replies (7) Victor on 11/1/2004 23:01:15 well.. in no case should both the voice coils of the sub get different audio signals. .. cause if this happens then u shall damage the sub in no time.. if u hook up 1 vc to ch 1&2 and the other vc to ch 3&4.. then i guess both the VC shall get different input signals.. which shud be avoided.. please give more specs on your amp.. is it capable of running in 3 or 2 channel option.. is it trimode capable.. ???what is the exact model# or part# of the amp.. please keep in mind.. even though each VC is different in a sub.. it is not equal to 2 x single vc sub.. these VC's are incorporated in the same sub with the same frame and cone structure... so if both the VC get different signals the cone shall not be able to cope up with the output and there is a great danger of damaging ur sub seriously.. if you wanna do something like this then u need to get 2 single VC subs and run one on ch 1&2 and the other on ch 3&4.. comments...??? Faded on 11/1/2004 23:42:48 http://www.electronixwarehouse.com/car/sgl-prod/amps/pyramid/pb1881x.htm this one Victor on 11/1/2004 23:46:28 no.. u still dont get my point.. all the 4 channels coming from the HU to the amp have different audio signals.. so this signal has to be converted into a mono signal .. which can be done by bridging or by using a monobloc amp.. and both these amps are 2ohms stable. ps... if u are around for a while.. catch me in the chat room.. we can discuss it better.. i am here for 20mins.. Victor... Faded on 11/2/2004 00:17:56 i get it now thanks so i should prolly go with the 2ohm sub the chat room wont open for me Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
