How do I remove the dash surrounding the sterio on a 2002 jeep grand cherokee to install a new one? Replies (3) Munchiesyumm on 10/27/2004 21:35:22 There are three ways to find out. 1. you can find instructions with pictures online @ http://www.carstereoremoval.com/htm/stereoremovalJeepGrndCher99_03P.htm for a cost of $2.99 2. You can stop by you're local audio store repair and ask them if they are willing to help you. Many places will help give you some hints. 3. You can take apart everything on you're dash until you figure out how it comes out. Which can take a while and you will probably loose some screws if you don't organize extremly well. You can pay $2.99 and get instructins via online or wait until one of the Gold's to give you a few hints. A jeep cherokee is probably a pretty common car to see in a stereo shop. UKinstaller on 10/27/2004 21:59:16 it is VERY easy on an 02 jeep. the trim around the radio, start at the top right and pop it out. a panel popper would be idea here, but you probably don't have one, so wrap a cloth around a big flat head screwdriver and pry it out, be careful not to break it. the one solid piece that surrounds the radio is all that needs to come out. no screws or nothing to remove the trim, it is very easy to get out. there will either be four phillips screws or four 10 mm bolts holding the radio in, i'm pretty sure it's phillips screws, and that's all there is to it. -UK Relax_The_Mind on 10/28/2004 13:45:10 I dont know what it is about the jeep family of vehicles. most of the jeeps i have run accross have a pair of bass tubes in the back. (bazookas). Might just be the area i live in or something... Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
