| Messed up bass...by Codeman Front Page * FAQ Forum * Archive Index Prev :: NextFrom time to time my subs will just begin to hit alot harder for a short period of time. This is what they used to always sound like until on day they just seemed to tone down themselves. What could this be?? It isen't one sub going on and off, the bass from the subs just seems to lower themselves. I was thinking that it had something to do with the wiring, but I would think that that faulty wiring would make the subs cut out completely. I'm clueless on how to fix it, so I was wondering what ya'll had to say before I took my system apart to figure it out. By the way, I have 2 Shivas powered by a Ultimate Digitalis 1200 watt mono amp off of a Pioneer Premier DEH-640. If this helps any, my amp is wired at 2 ohms giving each sub 700 watts. I only give each sub about 500 though. Please help, thanks! Always start by checking the connections... Codeman on 03/18/2003 19:09:44 The battery is not even a year old, so I'm hoping thats not it. I know the alternator is ok. I know that one is not cutting out, because you can see and hear both of them still playing while it is in this state just as you can when it plays normally from time to time. It probably is my connections, but I just don't understand how my connections would cause them to play at a a lower level. By the way, I don't have a cap. I dunno?? any other ideas? Till then I will just check my connections to make sure. Thanks guys! s2003_redman on 03/18/2003 21:57:21 well maybe your amp is going bad, i had amp that would cut completly out, and then about 3 days later i had smoke filling up my car ttocs on 03/19/2003 11:41:52 if your connections were going bad in the box for example, you loose one of the speakers, loose alot of sound. If the box is not individually sealed, then the speaker would still move as though it is working, but it is actually taking sound away from the system then. Codeman on 03/19/2003 21:45:17 Yah it was one of my connections. You were right ttocs, thanks! ttocs on 03/20/2003 00:54:59 kewl.... Statx98 on 03/21/2003 08:59:24 Another Bullseye for TTOCS |
