What I have: 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme (1) Kicker ZR600 Amp (4) 12" Kicker Comp VR's Deck = Aiwa (if model# is needed it will be provided) I've been having alot of problems trying to get my subs and amp working correctly. I'm not to sure what the problem is, so maybe someone could give me a hand. The problem is fuses are popping left and right. The one near the car batter and all (3) 30-amp fuses on the amp. And its almost right after I start the car/turn deck on. I dont even think their is a low frequency coming from the subs, because its so instantaneous. All I can think that the problem could be is a ground? Also this was very weird...My friend and I had the system running for a few seconds and my friend touched the amp while everything was working fine and as soon as he touched it a low frequency came from the sub. And then he touched the amp again and it did it again? But if he touched the side of the car and the amp it did not make this noise... I have no idea what thats about but I know its not good. And last question when I was installing my Aiwa deck it said to gorund the deck to the chassis of the car instead I just grounded it using the wiring harness. Will that affect anything that is causing my problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated. THINK Replies (1) uochronos on 10/27/2004 03:05:24 first of GROUND THE DECK TO THE CHASIS! hehe that is very important even if it does not fix this it well save tons of headaches and problems in the future. now as for the amp sounds like it could be a few things A make sure ground is to bare metal of the body of the car it must be sanded threw paint and touching bare metal. B short in power line somewhere C short in speaker wire D improper wirieng of subs tell us how its wired E bad internal part in the amplifier. Check out all this and give us any info you can and i'm sure we can work this problem out of the system.. Chronos Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
