Replies (4) uochronos on 10/25/2004 17:50:48 did you have it professional installed, or install yourself? was the originaly wiring plug cut off or an adaptor used? sounds like this could be a few differnt things A. Wire is not hooked up right or is shorting out B. Bad ground all aftermarket HU's should be grounded to the body pan or fire wall of car. you would be surprised how much a porblem a bad ground can cause. C. Bad internal part in the HU D. the wire that only comes on when key is on may be bad check it with a volt meter or test light these are the first things to check. now does it go on and off or only come on right when car is turned on? or does it go on and off with bumps? Good luck Chronos UKinstaller on 10/25/2004 20:32:37 that sounds like a blown fuse. check your radio fuse in your fuse box, and your cigarette lighter fuse, dome lights, etc. -UK ttocs on 10/25/2004 20:47:37 make sure all speaker wires are insulated weather used or unused..... UKinstaller on 10/25/2004 21:02:30 oh yeah and another thing, if it a cheaper JVC radio, it might need to be reset. we get those a lot at work. but from what i remember, your ignition fuse for the radio is blown. you are getting constant, and that's why it will turn on for a second, but your ignition is blown. but it could be scores of other things, too. -UK Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
