when my car is running i get a humming sound from my amplifier that raises pitch when i step on the gas. I already put a noise filter on the power supply and my RCA cables are magnetically shielded. I cant figure out what the problem is! please help me!!! Replies (1) swez on 10/25/2004 12:09:07 Very common problem when using outboard amps and Aftermarket HU's. Many times, this is either a ground loop issue or the amp gains are set too high. (sensitivity of 1 volt or less) Can you give details on the amp and HU you have now? I assume you have no noise issues when the engine is off and system powered off BAT only??? Finally, are the RCA lines placed a good distance from the main power feed line? We suggest at least 18" of separation between signal lines (RCA's) and power cable, along the wiring route. Yes, it will be much closer at the amp. But crossing these wires at 90 degree angles, will minimize noise. Comments? Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
