I was wondering if anyone had any experience with Directed Audio amplifiers?...preferably the 2400 D: the specs say that it puts out 1400 W at 4 ohms...I was wondering if anyone knew if it puts that out at 4 ohms mono. If not, I was wondering if anybody has had experience with the 1100d or 1500d? Replies (5) uochronos on 10/19/2004 02:21:10 couldnt find specs on the 1100d or the 2400d but the 1500d looks like a solid amp. Chronos jrine on 10/19/2004 20:28:02 Do you know anyone who has used Directed Audio amplifiers? Note to Chronos: Specs can be found on ikesound...just wondering if you could check the amps out and get back to me (check the refurbished). uochronos on 10/19/2004 22:44:44 ah thanks i well check it out if i can tonight and let you know what i think... all the directed audio camps i could find though seemed to be well built and pretty strieght forward. Chronos swez on 10/20/2004 07:45:43 Directed Audio makes some fine and very potent amps. Have read some good things about their products and from all accounts, a very solid product line in all. That 2400D will pull a large amount of current at full power. So, if you do plan to go this route, make sure you have a line on a powerful ALT and BAT kit to power this amp. Swez asplundher on 10/20/2004 08:17:07 I almost bought the smallest Directed monblock about a year ago. I believe it was the 400 or 700 something like that. I was surprised at their quality build for the money. The main thing I liked was the mosfet outputs. That's the main thing I look for in a amp. Bipolars are okay but, they tend to drink a lot of juice and are usually used on lesser quality amps to lessen the cost. I think the only reason I didn't buy it because it was only 2 ohm stable and the JBL was 1ohm. Wish I could have tried it though, I think they are a good value.
