i have a little bit of a problem when i bought my car i found out that the previous owner had taken out the speakers deck everything. i'm in the process of putting my own stuff all back in but when it comes to hooking up my deck i'm stumped. there is no cigarette lighter no nothing under there and i need a 12v source to run the deck. whats the simplest 12v source to connect to? Replies (5) Victor on 10/16/2004 16:35:27 well.. the simplest and the closest 12v source is your car's battery.. hook up a wire from its poritive terminal and ground the head unit to the frame of your car.. well i think i am right.. but if you find it difficult better consult some of the gold members.. they know much more. uochronos on 10/16/2004 22:03:32 are all the wires missing from the stock deck??? if thery stock plug or loose wires are still there that is your optimal source. if the plug is still instake get and adaptor. if not we can help you find the wire colors for your car.. if not then the simplest constant power is stright from battery and the simplest ignition wire would be the fuse box. Chronos ttocs on 10/18/2004 01:31:54 look for the orange wire behind the radio. It will be on a seperate hrns possably with a white wire if a remember correctly. if that wire is dead then check fuses. bigbear on 10/23/2004 19:17:06 thanks for all the help guys but like twenty minutes after i posted it i called a buddy of mine and he told me to wrap a wire around a fuse and run it to my deck so all is good as it is. ttocs on 10/23/2004 21:20:19 that would work as well....
