Do I need a 1 Ohm Stable Amp? Unsure....

Hi, I'm pretty new to the board, but I have been doing a little research on wiring amps to subs. I'm going to be running a IDMAX 12V.3 D2 (1000 W RMS) DVC 2 Ohms. I'm going to only be running one of these....so does that mean that I can either run it to a 1 ohm or 4 ohm amp?? I don't think I'm quite understanding even after looking at the wiring wizard at rockfordfosgate.com...and reading the Article on wiring in the "Read Article" section. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

you could wire this sub for a 1 ohm or a 4 ohm load either well do. just make sure you get an amp that can put out the power at one of those ohmages.
