I have a chance to get a ALPINE MRP-T130 2 channel amp, to run some high and mids. Would this be a good amp for 6x9's or maby comps? It's like new, what's a good price for it?

S/N Ratio 100dBA
Bass Engine Ready; Tuned Bass EQ
18dB HP/LP (80Hz) crossover; 4 Volt Input Capacity
Subsonic Filter (15Hz)

if its "like new" and is 50watts rms at 4ohm x 2 channels. i would say it could run a set of comps or 6x9's well and sound better then your HU.

however i too am unfamilar with this exact model i glanced at alpines site quickly and didnt see it. how old is this amp?

Well it can't be too old, it works with the Alpines Bass Engine. My friend wants a 4 channel amp now anyways. Thanks.

This amp will net slighly under 50 watt (RMS) per channel @ 4 0hms. If you have pretty efficient speakers (above 88 dB SPL, 1w/1m) this amp will do a pretty good job. About +3 dB more SPL than a high powered HU amping system. (~25 WRMS).

I did not see any mention of price on that amp. However, Crutchfield did sell them for $90.00 new. This is a discontinued model. Ebay has a few for under 50.00. I'd offer him 40-60.00 tops and see what he says.

Retail on this amp was ~130.00 new. Since it is discontinued, there is a reason for that... wonder why? Discount prices are nominally at 109.00.
