Hi, the system I'm going to have installed in my car is probably going to require that I upgrade my elecftrical system. From the advice I've been given, it seems that I'm probably going to need a 250A HO alternator for my 2003 Tiburon. I was wondering where I can find these...made by Stinger or Ohio Generator?? Replies (2) uochronos on 10/12/2004 16:55:39 both those can be bough factory direct i belive, also parts catalogs have alternators. also local shops and stores may be abel to order them. but both ohio generator and stinger are expensive a 250amp alternator from them may cost 400-800$ from them. also try alternator shops in your town here in portland we have at elast 2 and both do great work and for much less then stinger or ohio generator. also try ebay i got my 200amp alt there and it was only 200$ with liftime warranty it bolted right on no problem and works great. also you have a sporty car chances are its crammed in the engine compartment and there may nto be enough room for a huge alternator. usualy in car a 150-180 is the biggest they can put in the stock casing after that the cassing gets bigger and it problay wont fit right. so check to see how big of one well fi\t in your car. hope this helps Chronos P0werLifter on 10/12/2004 17:06:49 Id reccomend trying ebay or something along those lines, you might also try calling an alternator shop in town and see how big of an alt they can wind you with your existing case. In some cases they can wind it as big as you need as long as the case is big enough for it. I suspect finding a very large HO alternator might be tricky with the year and model car you have. Might end up making a custom mount and running dual alts. -Jason Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
