New Altec Lansing?

I've been looking around on Ebay for some new mids for my ride and came across some Altec Lansing Medallion Series 5.25 Inch 2 Way Component System 5's.

No doubt these are older models (at least that's what I believe) but does anyone know anything about them? If they are of excellent sound quality like other Altec products I might just try a pair or two.

I've tried some extensive research including any past reviews and can't find anything. I've also emailed Altec's support and I'm waiting for a reply, but I don't expect them to give much (if any) unless I get lucky.

Altec-Lansing is a very old partnership between Altec Audio and James B. Lansing. (AKA... JBL) Am sure that anything they have to offer will above average as most of the older A/L products centered around Pro and Studio monitoring systems

Back in the 70's and early 80's, A/L did a lot of great designs together before J.B.Lansing was absorbed by Harmon Intl. Harmon now has JBL, Crown, Infinity, Becker and a few other lines under the family umbrella.

I was surprised to find out that they have a deep healthy history despite the fact that they now almost dwell in the pc realm and nothing else. However as we all know all brands have a "so-so" budget lineup and a "premium" one. Just can't figure out where these belonged. The crossovers seem to be pretty decent with some nice good options, but that is about all that I can tell from their ad description.

They are being offered at a fairly high "buy it now" price of $59 ( older model JBL GTO's (no crossover/ just tweet cap) are going for about $38 w/high shipping). Yet the Altecs start off at $25 auctioned. Only good thing no one is bidding at this time so you might get lucky. Shipping is kinda high though. I want to see want kind of deal will they do on combined. Two pairs would be nice.
