Bought a new Aiwa CDC-X304 receiver for my 98 Malibu. Was told that I needed all kinds of harnesses, etc. to install, an additional $65. Does anybody know if this is true??? Replies (3) uochronos on 10/8/2004 16:25:51 do you need it now. is it wise to buy it extremly. first off defiantly buy the adaptor for the deck. this can suauly be had for 20--30$ then if this car has a premium sound amp etc already built in you well need something to by pass that. not sure all what this car needs. but i very much suggest getting the harness its the best way to go. Chronos ttocs on 10/8/2004 16:36:48 there are part needed for any install. Your will require a fit kit, and ant adaptor, and it is recommended to use an aftermarket hrns to integrate into the factory wiring. There may be other issues with that car as GM has enjoyed multiplexing other accesories through the radio so when the deck is removed, that accesory does not work anymore(door chimes and dome light normally). There is apart to allow the door chime to stay, but of course it is not free. These parts may or may not be needed depending on if you or someone else does it. Did they give you a list of parts? cplkittle on 10/10/2004 19:44:28 talk them down on the price, we pay $3-$4 for wiring harnesses and around $5 for mounting kits, all of which retail for $20+. There is alot of room for negotiation unless you are a major chain of stores where employees can't budge on the price. There are exceptions (ford) where the mounting kit incorporates the climate controll as well. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
