Maybe it is high time we set up a database on amplifier makers and links to same.
We can do it in a A-Z format by company and links to their websites. This is a considerable project to compile all data and then it can be posted in our DIY/FAQ section. Would need several volunteers to help locate amp makers and their links. Then someone to coordinate all the data and links into the database.
If we can get 3-4 ppl involved and one to format all this data, I am willing to do what I can to help/lead this project.

The best way for us to do something like this is to let me make us a section. Ill work on it tonight then it will be easier for yall to do. Only Golds will be able to add to the system

As a newbie, I think this would be a great tool. Would it be possible to build the page as a chart? I'm thinking of something like a consumer report's chart. . . where the manufacturer name/website would be on the left side of the page, and yes/no boxes are on the right side of the page to describe a typical amp by the manufacturer. Some of the columns could relate to whether the amp is known for reliability, SPL, SQ, costs as: $, $$, $$$. . .
I know that you guys aren't getting paid to do this sort of thing, so it would be wrong to expect an in depth analysis of each manufacturer. (Not to mention you aren't buying every amp and doing individual tests.) However, if there were some way to catagorize the amps, it may help answer some of our simpler questions before we ask them.
