If it still goes into protection then disconnect the rca's. If the amp is still in protection with nothing hooked up, the amp is bad.. If it starts working at any time then we need to look at what was disconnected. cflanagan on 10/10/2004 11:12:28 cflanagan on 10/10/2004 11:18:47 well found out why it kept going into protect mode well not really a fuse blew and i replaced it now it works fine appart from the interference that comes across when he has the engine going as buzzing sound the increses with the revs swez on 10/10/2004 11:57:40 That's a ground loop problem. His HU has to be grounded to the firewall or floor pan. (not the wiring harness ground wire) So does the amp. These grounds need to be to bare metal in both cases. That should eliminate the engine noise. See our DIY articles on ground loops and proper grounding techniques for full details. The second link explains how to set gains and such for best performance. http://www.clubknowledge.com/Car_Audio_FAQ/?t4 http://www.clubknowledge.com/Car_Audio_FAQ/?t3 Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
