I am looking into getting a pair of Boston Acoustics FX5 5.25" coaxials. I found a good price from a guy I know for $129 (Canadian Dollars). They normally retail for anywhere from $149 - $169 (CDN). I am going to be running then off my HU which is a Kenwood KDC-2019 for now until I buy an amp at a later date.
What I was wondering was do you guys know any other brands for this price range/quality that would be comparable to the Bostons? I am looking for clearer highs and crisper mid bass, as I have a 12" Type R to take of the low freq. To me these have been the best speakers I've heard off a HU in this price range, but in my area there isn't that big of a selection of brands to choose from. Just your everyday common brands like Alpine, JL, Rockford, Pioneer etc.

PS have any of you hear heard of Kaption Audio? I think they maybe a Canadian company that makes higher end stuff that looks good but I have not heard or and any experience with then.

Not a bad product here. Very efficient too... 92 dB SPL @ 1 w/1m. Does this have a swivel type tweeter assy? If yes, probably a good option in that price range.
Kaption Audio is out of Toronto, CAN. Their web site is pretty limited and if you click on "product"... nothing happens.
