What system setup would you suggest for around $400 total? 1992 Chevy Lumina CD-player is a Pioneer Premier Super Tuner III The stock speakers are actually decent but I need some bass. I was looking at possibly two adire shivas but not sure what would be a good amp that's not so expensive. Replies (3) noxious on 10/1/2004 08:13:47 I forgotto say cd-player is 50Wx4 ryan2 on 10/1/2004 09:45:29 If you could find a JBL 600.1 on ebay that would power those subs good. swez on 10/1/2004 12:04:34 Depends how much bass you desire and space for the woofer enclosure. The HU mentioned will deliver ~25 x 4 RMS to your main speakers. Not bad if you don't ask much bass from them. (80-100 Hz and up) Guestimated SPL is low 100's db. They can get loud... but not best SQ. Sub/amp: A single 12" sub and 300 RMS will get you high 120's db. If ya want more, then a ported enclosure will add +3 db more. If you want more bass SPL, then dual 12's (sealed or ported) will do the job. A 600 watt (RMS) amp to power them will get you pretty close to 140 db of SPL. Amps to consider: Alpine, JL, JBL, Kicker or Infinity. Yes, there are many others as well if you wish like MA Audio, Orion, Avionixx or maybe a Sony. Subs: Infinity Kappa, Alpine SWR series, MA Audio, Adire Shiva and many others too. =================================================== Package options: HiFonics Merlin: http://www.thezeb.com/detail.aspx?ID=6503 ($150) More to follow later.. gotta run!
