I HAVE A WIRING HARNESS TO HOOK UP MY PIONEER DEH7500 BUT WHEN I TOOK THE OLD CASSETT PLAYER OUT THE HARNESS DID NOT FIT THE FACTORY HARNESS. AND ALSO WHERE IN THE HELL IS THE ANTENNA WIRE. I'M NOT SURE IF MY REGAL HAS AN INTERNAL AMP. ALSO ALL OF THE CAR AUDIO PLACES ASSURE ME ITS THE RIGHT HARNESS. THINK Replies (4) ryan2 on 09/21/2004 11:43:24 what exactly do you need help with the wiring or putting it in the dash please explain more. Also what kind of cd player is it? ttocs on 09/21/2004 12:01:44 you need to go to a shop and get some parts. You will need a GM hanrns (metra part 70-1977 I think?) and an antenna adaptor, and a kit. I can't remember what the dash looks like on that year... The antenna is smaller then the standard motorola end on the back of your pioneer. But it is a black coax type of cable with a silver tip. You may need to dig a bit but it is there. Try looking behind the glove box in you still cannot find it. Next instruction, push the caps lock button, then pry it off and throw it away. DOESN'T IT SEEM LIKE I AM YELLING AT YOU? ryan2 on 09/21/2004 12:08:28 Im assuming your car doesnt have an internal up. So is this the harness that came with the Pioneer? If so you also need another harness. You can go to Auto Zone or somewhere were they sell audio equipment. You find the aftermarket harness that is for your vehicle and plug it into the factory harness coming from the dash. Then you wire the wires from the aftermarket harness to the wires coming from the harness that goes to your deck. If your antenna isnt motorized you might have to dig in the dash to find it. it could of slid back there. If it is motorized though you will have to hook your antenna wire from the Pioneer usually blue or blue with a white strip to the aftermarket harness. Also in your Pioneer manual it will tell you what wire to hook to what also the wires will be labeled on your aftermarket harness usually. Red (power), Yellow (memory), Black (ground) those are your main wires. Also when hooking your ground up its best to ground it to your car chasis usually your floor panel by the passengers feet. Make sure yous scrap and sand away the paint to bare metal for a good ground. Any other ?'s or anything i need to explain better? UKinstaller on 09/21/2004 14:10:52 metra GM antenna adaptor is part number 40-GM10. you will need that to adapt your antenna as ttocs said. also, you do not have a factory amp in a 91 regal, so you don't have to worry about hooking it up. at least, no regal i've worked on has had one. finally, the factory harness is either one big piece with four different sections, or it is 3 or 4 smaller pieces that plug into the one large piece. if all of the places you've been to say it's the right harness, then it probably is. if it is a metra harness, the part number should be 80-1858. good luck -UK Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
