ive found a really nice 1000w 800mm clarion sub at this website http://www.1st-car-audio-and-stereo.co.uk/Speakers_Clarion_Subwoofer.html but what i want to know is how would i set it up to use with my other subs, they are a 6" 200w and a 15" 1200w, both eltax. but i wanna go bigger, can any1 help with a website or suggestions plz Replies (3) swez on 09/20/2004 13:20:25 Hummm, normally I avoid Satan, bind him and cast him out... but in your case, will make an acception.. hehe What exactly are you trying to accomplish here? More woofers is not always the best answer. Quality woofers, correct enclosure design and a potent amp to drive them, is usually the best way to get solid bass performance. That comes with a bigger pricetag, good planning and a quality install. Let's see... 800mm is what... a 32 inch sub? That means a huge enclosure too. Also, wiring issues need to be considered here as well. The Clarion is is a 4 ohm coil design, what are the Eltax woofer ohm ratings? Not familiar with that brand here in the States. Got a link? Personally, a solid pair of 15's in a well designed ported/vented enclosure should provide plenty of deep low bass. Am sure they are a lot cheaper than just one of the Clarion subs. That's like $2,000.00 (USD) Sounds crazy to spend that kind of money for 1 sub. I guess I really cannot help you much more than that. Cool idea maybe... but performance per unit of currency just does not add up very well here. Maybe others will have some additional inputs for you... but this plan makes no sense to me. (scratching head) Sorry... no offense meant either. Swez P0werLifter on 09/20/2004 15:31:32 I agree here with Swez..im leary of spending $2000USD for a single subwoofer thats 32"s. Yes that would be an impressive subwoofer to look at, but how would it sound? The motor structure/ basket for that driver would have to be massive. Im also leary of this subwoofer for the fact that i see no Specs on the sub. I dont really feel like hunting them down either GRIN. For that same price you can purchase 2 15" Brahmas and a competend amp that will Blow your mind. If you have your heart set on this subwoofer..well hope you've got alot of room in your car..and a deep pocket book. However, if your interested in other options here, we'd be more than happy to give you some other inputs as to what brands to consider, within a given pricerange -Jason uochronos on 09/20/2004 16:43:37 i heard an audiobahn 30 some inch sub once. I would never use one. first off the box required for that big of a sub you would need a van or suv just to fit it. second it sounds sloppy as all hell it hits real low and real loud but no sound quality at all. and might as well forget about any frequency abouve 50hz... not to mention it takes so much power to push it that it would cost tons of money to upgrade your alternator, battry and everything else. just to run the amplifier. a good single 12 or 15" sub can get just as loud with alot less power and actualy sound good.
