wht can be wrong??

ok..here is the problem...i cahnged my head unit and have lost all my displays on my cars dashboard..now this is normal....but in dashboard time and km counter was still working .until last week i found out that my cigerette car lighter is not working and the remaining display is gone.....checked all fuse ..all those small fuses ..its ok but there are big fuses black ones which you can only buy in dealer is ther any possibilites that any one can them have blown off?? how to check this ? small fuses are easy as they are transperent...i know i am being a little dumbo but it is nice to learn.

Best way to test fuses if with a "continuity tester" or ohmeter. If the fuse it good the meter will register <1 ohm. If you use a C-Tester, the lamp will light if the fuse is good.

Seems like you may have tapped into a few electrical circuits that are not designed for HU functions. Your displays and gages should not be affected by the HU install. (only dimmer circuit will) Review your present wiring as there seems to be a problem with installed wiring. Did you hard wire direct to old HU wiring or use a harness conversion kit?

Ttocs may be of some help on this matter. He is our "Go to Guy" on HU installs. Let's see if he has some input for your situation.

there is an illumination wire in the deck hrns that you may not have insulated properly. It is normally orange if you bought an aftermarket hrns.

What kind of mitz?
