I recently installed a system in my 93 Acura Legend I installed an MTX 684 four channel amp and MTX 801D with 2 -12" MTX 7500. Running the amp I installed a 2004 Pionner flip down face CD player that has 3-RCA outputs but I have a slight problem the sound on the system seems to fade down and then increase back up. All the equipment is new. I am thinking I have a problem with the stereo outputs not working like they are suppose to. Help!!!!!!!!! Replies (3) uochronos on 09/15/2004 23:13:56 hmmm not 100% sure here but sounds like either a bad ground, bad rca, or its pulling too much power. swez on 09/16/2004 06:48:56 What gage power line did you use from the BAT to amps? It sounds like the amps may be starving for power here. If you have a voltmeter, measure (monitor) the voltage at the amp power terminals. It should be pretty close to 14.0 volts with amps playing at low volume. As you increase the HU volume settings, observe any changes in that voltage. My guess it's dropping below 12.0 volts after the system is cranking hard for a time. Please advise, Swez ttocs on 09/16/2004 08:18:55 try hooking a walkman or another source to the amp and see if it happens. Does it do it immediatly or after jamming for some time? Where are the gains on the amp. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
