ok] dear frends i have tried all methods but my amplifier is still shows red light(protected) so once again let me tell you the scenirio.

1.. a cable is running from my car battery direct to my 2 farad capacitor ..lets all this point (a ) and from the same point (a) the same cable runs to my amplifier. in my capacitor there is two terminal in one of them i have a wire which is comming from my car battery and in second terminal i have a ground wire ..dont forget i have a fuse in the wire which is running from car battery...its 20 amp and is very close to car battery..now lets move to second one

2.. i have a sony headunit s2000 and from it it runs a remote wire blue one direct to my amplifier...now lets move to the problem

problem: protectition lights comes on all the time...

now if i dont connect my wire from the battery to my amplifier but if my head unit is still running i can see a green light on my amplifier but obviously it dont have a power so subs cant run.now if i connect power wire my amp goes into a protection mode.....why??? capacitor is ok it is perfect .

3.. i tried every thing all wires are ok... if i remove my remote wire all the power goes away from the amp.... i even grounded my bothwires together (one from cap and on from amp) now what happens here is if i touch both ground wires to a bare metal on my car red lights come (protected) but if i remove it only greenlights come on.... so i guess thatis due to a remote wire working alone from the head unit..

everything was working perfect a week a go ..i was palying very loud and all of a sudden amp went out ...found out that my fuse in the car battery wire had blown ,,,,changed it and was working fine.....but this problem is making me sick...has my amp blown??? or is ther a problem with head unit.....i wired my headunit ....my amp can be seen in www.allyourbass.co.uk......its shark 2000watt its a four channel amp....please guide me here pal......
thank you

OK, looked at your link for Shark amps and best I can say... these are cheap and low grade products. Am assuming you have the HG7450 4 channel amp. Looks like a 50 x 4 (RMS) amp and probably draws close to 25 amperes of current.

Seems like you have done everything you know to wire it correctly. If it worked before and you changed nothing, the amp has a problem internally. My guess, the power supply or output transistors are in trouble on one or more channels.

You can try some troubleshooting techniques if you wish to confirm this. Best way to do this is to remove sub wires from amp. If red protect light is still on...amp problems. If green light is on, may have a few more tests to help isolate what channels are faulty.

1. Remove all sub wires wired to amp
2. Using one sub only, connect a good sub to each channel output, one at a time
3. If the sub plays on any channels, that one is OK
4. The channels where the sub does not give off any bass, those circuits are in trouble and need a look by a qualified tech

Good luck and keep us posted OK?

try taking the pwr wire from the battery to the amp, and connect it to the +12v constant ont he amp, and to the remote wire...

Also try disconnecting the speakers from the amp.

it went into protection, without any pwr hooked to it?

I just want to make sure, there was no pwr or ground, just the rca inputs?

ok, what kind of deck and who put it in?

If your amp is pwring up with just the rca's(NO pwr wires?) there is a serious issue... There should be NO dc current there, especially not enough to pwr an amp.... It just does not make any sence.

If you installed the deck you need to check your connections, if somebody else did then I would go there. disconnect the rca's from the deck and see if the amp still turns on. If you have a multi meter (or test light)and know how to use it this is a good time to dig it out...

It sounds like the HU may be causing the problem here. It might be a wiring issue or something has gone wrong in the HU itself. Hard to say w/o some careful diagnostics.

It may be in your best overall interest to pull the HU and amp, have them bench tested, than rewire all systems from scratch. That way, you know what was done and where all the wiring comes and goes.

Am not saying you "can't do this on your own"... just that you may not be equipped (knowledge and diagnostic tools) for the job right now. Troubleshooting a problem in the system is the most difficult phase of car audio. Especially if someone else has done the work before.

PS Oh, a word on mental health... (no extra charge) If this kind of thing gets the best of you... maybe it would be best to have a Pro installer do the work for you. This kind of work is tedious, time consuming and very confusing to the average person. The "Learning Curve" is steep in the beginning. Most mistakes and damage are done by inexperienced hands. Chill man... this is not the end of the world as we know it. Just a bump in the road. ;-)
